Frogs and toes

Last night we found a frog on our patio! Lauren and Jessie were both quite interested, Lauren in a "Ooo look, a frog!" sort of way and Jessie in a more suspicious "there's a creature on my patio" sort of way. It was pretty cute to see them both interact with the unexpected guest.

bye-bye frog (notice Jessie lying in wait beyond the fence)

Lauren has been on a kick lately of saying that things hurt (I think they usually do actually hurt, but it's hard to tell for sure through all the drama). Anyway, last night we were sitting down to dinner and here was our exact conversation:

Lauren: "Toe hurt" (repeatedly)
Me: "I'm sorry your toe hurts. Is there anything I can do to make it feel better?"
Lauren (nodding yes): "Washcloth"
Me: "OK. Would you like it hot or cold?"
Lauren: "Yellow"
Me: "OK, I'll be sure to grab a yellow one. Hot or cold?"
Lauren (definitively): "Hot"

She proceeded to happily eat her dinner while holding a washcloth on her toe :).

Will doesn't have any stories on here yet - he doesn't say as many funny things as Lauren! He has been a pretty happy little guy the last few days. We had a long trip to the mall tonight for a bridesmaid dress fitting and dinner while we waited for our cars to be worked on at the shop (within walking distance of the mall). Will was the perfect baby the whole time - happily awake followed by a nap, a quick feeding and then more happy awake time! He's so laid back. Lauren spent some time out of the double stroller walking and I told her she needed to hold on to the stroller if she was going to walk. She held on and was "helping" me push, all the while saying "peas, peas" (see earlier post). Lauren and Will both enjoyed a walk through the pet store to look at the fish.
Off to see fireworks from in front of our house!
